The paint has finally dried which means it’s time to share my October Bullet Journal Setup. This month I chose masks as my theme and a basic black, white, and red colour palette. I have the video setup here for you to watch, if you prefer. October is the kick off to my favourite time of the year – Fall. So many fun and exciting things coming up in the next few months, and the spooky, scary atmosphere of October deserves all of the extras. And this setup is definitely full of extras so let’s get into it!

October Setup Tips and Tricks
- I used a basic pull tab, much like the one that set this whole pull tab adventure off. You can check it out here. I used two acetate pull tabs for the effect. If I were to do this again, I would include a page between the two pieces of acetate. This will ensure that the acetate doesn’t become static and stick together
- Forgot to mention this in my video, but I removed the page from my notebook and ran it through my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the October on the cover page. I could’ve cut it with a craft knife and a metric trash ton of patience. But I opted for the easy way! Lol!
- The masks I created on Procreate were very intricate and detailed. Instead of redrawing them by hand, I cut down on time by printing them out as die cuts. Saved a lot of setup time after I spent so much time drawing them digitally.
- The Acrylographs work best on blackout paper. I used them over top of the Distress Ink and the Tombow Brush pen, and it needed far more layers than on the blackout paper. So just something to keep in mind when using the Acrylographs.
- I admit that the feather is extremely extra and borderline excessive, BUT! It’s Halloween and its my journal so I’m going to go for it! I wouldn’t have tried this in any other journal since I trust the thickness of the 160GSM pages enough to attempt this. And as you can see on the following pages (the weekly layout), I didn’t run into any issues with bumps on the page.
