As the Holiday Season approaches, I thought I would share some ideas for a Bullet Journal Holiday Planner. I am sharing my bullet journal holiday planner on my YouTube Channel, but I thought I would share some ideas for you here too. Normally, I use a Traveller’s Notebook or a random sheet of paper for these items, but I know I need more than that this year! So let’s dive in!
Holiday Planner Supplies
Very minimal supplies for this setup. I have used my Scribbles That Matter bullet journal, and my Scribbles That Matter brush pens. If you live in the US or the UK, you can use STMLOVE for 10% off. Bullet Journal Holiday Setup Ideas
It’s always fun to start with a dashboard or cover page, but you don’t have to. In the video, I show a quick and easy way to make a simple holly wreath. You can also print, cut, and glue an image or photo for a cover page too.
Elf on the Shelf
I created a page to write down Elf on the Shelf ideas. This way, when I remember I haven’t moved him, I can just look at my idea list and come up with something quick. It’s our 4th year doing Elf and it has definitely lost it’s appeal for me. The kids still love it so the tradition will continue.
December Daily or Memory Keeping
I created a page to jot down December Daily ideas. If you don’t know what December Daily is, you can check out Ali Edward’s website for more information. But, at it’s core, it is a form of memory keeping. I’ll be using this page to plot out ideas for documenting this December.
You can also use this layout to write down something that happened that day for simple memory keeping. You can also use 2 pages and print pictures and do some journaling beside them. The opportunities are endless.
Gift List
I didn’t include a gift list in my setup since I have one already in my new bullet journal setup. But it would definitely be a have to have for a holiday planner.
To Do and To Buy Lists
For me, a To Do list is a no brainer. This is where I will be noting things like doing the guest bedroom laundry, cleaning, baking treats, putting together the gift baskets, etc.
The “To Buy” list would include things like buying guest toiletries, stocking up on coffee, buying new sheets, a new Christmas ornament or decorative item. We need new cutlery so that would be on the list too.
Just mostly things relating to what we will need for the holidays specifically.
Cleaning Schedule
Normally, I wouldn’t include this. Other than cleaning the oven and fridge (which could go on the “To Do” list), we wouldn’t need to do any drastic cleaning. But with isolation and staying at home, I have definitely let some things slip and therefore, my house is going to need a good clean! The toddler isn’t helping the situation either, but there definitely needs to be a plan to get this place back to a reasonable standard.
Shipping Tracker
So far, two=thirds of my gifts this year have been bought online. As such, there are a lot of packages out there that I need to keep track of. I have an app but it’s not capturing one of my email addresses so I have created this.
I am tracking what it is, where it’s coming from, the order date, the day it ships, and a check mark for received. For a 2 page layout, you can include the tracking number as well as the carrier that will be delivering it.

Holiday Card List
Here I plan on keeping track of cards we’ve received and listing cards to send out. We don’t normally/consistently send out cards but with the pandemic this year, there are definitely friends and family that I want to let know that we are thinking of them.
I also want to use it as a place to capture addresses for future reference. One of my intentions for 2021 is going to be to send out cards randomly throughout the year to loved ones, just because!
Holiday Crafts
This 2 page layout will be used to jot down ideas and glue down pictures of crafts to do with the kids. We will be staying home on weekends so we will need ideas to keep the kids busy, especially as the weather gets colder.

Family Meal Ideas
I am most excited for this layout as a potential meal planning idea for the future. My intention is to look up a whole bunch of recipes and write down the ones I like on post-it (or sticky) notes. This page will hold all of those sticky notes from now until I start actually meal planning.
Holiday Meal Planning Layout
My family will only be visiting for a few days so I created daily layouts for those few days plus a few extra. I used a dutch door layout which I really love! Always love an excuse for a dutch door layout!
The idea is to move the sticky notes from the previous Family Meal Ideas layout into this one. This will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner ideas. I’m kind of jumping off the back of my Kanban board setup for this, but I am excited to see how it works out.
